Good news for graduates

A recent study of graduate vacancies at the UK’s top 100 employers shows that the number of graduates being recruited is set to rise by 9.4% against 2010′s figures.

However a report from High Fliers called The Graduate Market in 2011 is not so positive, expressing that those with a lack of work experience have little or no chance of obtaining job offers from most of the country’s top employers.

Despite an expected increase in graduate recruitment vacancies, recruiters have confirmed that a third of their 2011 entry level positions are likely to be filled by graduates who have already worked for them through a placement, work experience, or as vacation work.

Theses statistics are a move in the right direction for graduates who saw employment rates drop by 17.8% in 2009 and 6.7% in 2008.
