So what does your job actually involve? Tell us all about it
Before TSR I worked in a uni recruiting students, and before that in media & marketing telling stories. My job here is to do both of those things - to make sure our products are right for recruiting students (or recruiting graduates, or finding young people considering purchases) and telling the TSR story so that it feels as relevant and exciting as we know it is.
What's the most unique part of your role at The Student Room?
We're lucky to have a talented tech team who make great sites, a caring community team who look after our members and great account managers who work with brands brilliantly. I’m unusually lucky to be sandwiched between such great people, and to be given the opportunity to make sure their work delivers great products for our clients.
What do you find most exciting about working in the student & youth market?
In my head I'm still a young man, but whenever I catch a glimpse in the mirror I realise I’m really not. I love that my job keeps me in touch with young people, what they think and how they feel.
If you could give your student self one piece of advice what would it be?
You don't learn anything from getting things right - keep making mistakes, don’t be afraid to try and fail.
