TSR HITS A RECORD HIGH FOR A-LEVEL CLEARING AND ADJUSTMENT REGISTRATIONS
With 39% of students feeling like they don’t know enough about the clearing process, the demand for support and advice around this time of year is high. This led us to raise the bar, with a target of 30,000 registrants for clearing information by results day 2017.
Parents are a key part of a students’ decision making process with 64% taking them to Open Days
91% of students said their parents were helpful during their Open Day experience highlighting an opportunity to better prepare and engage parents in supporting their son or daughter.
What to say to the applicants who stayed at home
They’ve clicked on an ad, leafed through a prospectus, browsed your site and booked onto an Open Day. You’ve kept them warm with emails, sent a reminder text and sent them an itinerary. And they still don’t turn up.
We surveyed over 1,200 students about their Open Day experiences and found interesting insights for the sector
As you might expect applicants did their homework and put in the miles with 86% of students attending two or more Open Days during their university decision-making process, and 41% attending four or more.
Students lack in confidence as 80% believe a career in STEM is only for the brightest people with over half saying they think STEM would be too difficult for them.
