The first UK university campus in Cyprus is set to open in the autumn. The University Of Central Lancashire, UCLan, has announced it will open a new campus in Pyla, in the Larnaca district on the eastern side of the island, in October.

A survey by The Student Room suggested many potential undergraduates would consider studying overseas.

The poll of 1,043 future undergraduates found 78% think studying abroad is a viable alternative to going to a UK university.
Around two in five said they would consider going abroad to study if they did not get into a UK institution.

The survey also suggested that North America, Australasia and Western Europe were the most popular areas for studying abroad.
