Where are 14-26 year olds going for the sales?

With the sales starting early this year and students’ eye for a bargain there’s plenty of discussion on The Student Room about what they’re buying and where they’re heading for the sales.

The discussion began on December 23rd with the question what have you bought in the sales? leading to over 50 responses from fellow bargain hunters and totalling over 120 different products mentioned.

The top purchases were

  1. Dresses (most for new years eve)
  2. T-Shirts
  3. Coats

with other popular items including laptops, and games consoles like Microsoft’s Xbox 360.

Many of those involved in the discussion also listed the shops where they’d found the best deals and posted links to the products they’d managed to snap up in the sales. The top stores mentioned as having the best sales were

  1. New Look
  2. Next
  3. Topshop
  4. ASOS
  5. Amazon

Another thread focussed on the best online stores which saw Amazon and ASOS rise to the top as the best places to go for ease of use, delivery charges and variety. Ebay and Play.com were also ranked highly for the variety of products available from one place, indicating that the 14-26 year old online shoppers don’t want to browse multiple stores in the same way they’re opposed to wandering round the high street.
