We’re Hiring – Community Engagement Executive (Part-time, FTC)

We are looking for a Community Engagement Executive to join The Student Room. This is a part-time role on fixed term contract (FTC).

What does the Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Community Engagement Executive at The Student Room do?

The Student Room Group is the largest, most useful, and best-loved online student community there is. Millions of students turn to us first for advice, info, and support on work, learning, and life’s ups and downs. And that means we’re uniquely privileged to connect educators and employers to switched-on young people actively seeking out answers and meaningful connections.

Reporting to the Head of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement Executive provides key administrative support across our community forums.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • An active member of the TSR community, spending a significant proportion of your time supporting and organising conversation on the site.
  • Provide helpful responses to queries and questions, gather feedback and insight from site members, and signpost them to helpful resources and other community members.
  • Help to guide our team of volunteers, ensuring they are actively engaged in engagement campaign briefs and assignments and are supporting our goal to help young people make informed decisions that are right for them.
  • You’ll be a site ‘super-user’ and will understand the intricacies of how users engage with the site. You’ll use this knowledge to manage and grow some of our key community initiatives such as our  Grow Your Grades blogging competition and our Revision and Exam engagement campaign.

This Fixed Term Contract (FTC) opportunity will suit someone who…

  • A passion for supporting students and young people – and empathy for the challenges they face.
  • Strong understanding of Gen Z and Gen Alpha and what appeals to them.
  • An interest in secondary education, further education (FE) and higher education (HE) sectors.
  • An interest in developing online communities.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and ability to get the best out of the people around them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A natural team player who is comfortable working in close collaboration with others.
  • Has a proactive ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to develop self and area of work.
