Edge Hill wanted to attract as many pre-registrations as possible for its summer Open Day.

As a leading UK university with a gold TEF rating, Edge Hill was looking for the most effective way to let students know about the outstanding teaching it could offer them.

How The Student Room helped Edge Hill achieve its goal

The objective of the campaign was to increase Open Day attendance, so The Student Room engaged a large, but highly targeted audience of applicants that matched Edge Hill’s criteria.

The marketing mix included targeted display advertising and email, as well as a weekly spotlight which is designed for maximum exposure, in a prime location on The Student Room homepage.
Weekly spotlights are eye-catching ad unit buttons with text copy that each link directly back to the client’s website.

The campaign combined high-visibility advertising to maximise reach with a carefully constructed and targeted email send that deepened engagement.

The Student Room worked closely with Edge Hill to test and optimise all the creatives to achieve the highest possible conversion rates:

The campaign ran between April and mid-June and performed very well, driving high volumes of relevant traffic to the client’s website. The email had an impressive open rate of 32.3% and targeted impressions over-delivered by 5% with 82% viewability. Rebecca commented on the success of the campaign:
