How The Student Room helped University of Strathclyde to boost student engagement using Official Reps.

The ask

University of Strathclyde wanted to optimise the way they were using their Official Reps on The Student Room to connect with their student audience in key areas of the site:

"We already used our TSR Official Rep accounts, but primarily with a focus on the University of Strathclyde forum. We decided in June 2020 to change our activity on TSR, and to make an effort posting and building relationships in other forums. We knew that our target demographics (Year 12/13s in particular) were active and looking for guidance on TSR. We decided to focus on conversations taking place in certain forums - UCAS & Applications, Personal Statements, A-Level forum and the subject-specific areas."

The Student Room's account managers offered regular tailored support and best practice tips to help the University of Strathclyde use the Official Rep tool effectively.

What was your experience of working with The Student Room?

“The TSR team have been great and really attentive with our University Partner Pack (UPP). I’ve really appreciated the monthly meetings we set up with Nurcin, and now with Adam, where we get great insight into what’s going on in the forums and key areas we can use our Official Rep effectively. It’s been productive to see how our coverage on the site is improving and easy to see gaps we need to improve on."  

How did your campaign compare to your expectations?

“As of 28th July this year, the Official Rep account on TSR had posted 762 times across the site. Our Student Ambassador account had posted 750 times. This is an increase of 164% and 81% respectively from the same time the previous year, which I'm really pleased with. Our objective was to increase Strathclyde's presence and visibility across various parts of the site and I'm satisfied that we achieved this with the guidance from TSR account managers.”
