I’m constantly learning about new programs and products so that no one day is the same as the next. This is a role where you get to work with lots of teams across the company, as well as well-known clients and the student community. You get to be involved in a little bit of everything.
B2B Marketing Executive
The variety and fast-paced nature of my role. You have to stay on your toes and be reactive to the ever-changing industry needs, which means everyday is different and I have a lot of plates spinning at once.
I get to be a part of so many different projects which all help strengthen the site so it remains a huge benefit to students everywhere. In these projects I get to communicate with so many fun and interesting personnel across various departments, all of whom are incredibly passionate and hard-working which helps make TSR HQ an ideal environment in which to work.
The unique part of my role is software testing. Working at The Student Room is very challenging and gives job satisfaction in each phase.
Liaising with all areas of the business and working on such a wide-range of excellent systems.
We aren't afraid to use new technology and lead the way in first class, innovative delivery. Supporting the newer generations through some of their most crucial points in their life is something I am very proud of.
Knowing that we're working with the largest student community in the world - it feels like a bit of a privilege to work and be connected with that many young people.
The huge variety of clients that I get to work with. One day I'll be working on a campaign for a Times Top 100 employer, the next day the public sector, the next day a start up business. Plus the amount of times I get to beat my boss at table tennis!

Personalisation of websites and CRM is a pretty unique and interesting area of marketing. Predicting what a user is most likely to engage with next, in order to give them a more enjoyable and seemly experience is a pretty cool and rewarding area of marketing to work in.
Senior Business Analyst
Working with a business that are heavily focused on the needs of users. We're constantly developing tools and site improvements that we hope make education choices easier and more informed for students and they get it all for free. We also get to implement the newest of techs and brainstorm fresh solutions to old and new problems which for a nerdy project delivery keen bean is incredible.
The most unique part of my role is simply being able to do what I love, in a beautiful office with friendly team members. I am always working varying list of design projects, enabling me to learn more about the company everyday.
Key Account Manager
Working closely with so many universities means I have to understand what makes every one of them distinct and special. By advising the right mix of media, I get to share in universities' successes - lots of potential for high-five moments!
Business Development Manager
What makes my role exciting is the ability to be creative, devising bespoke campaign ideas that are so much more than adverts with banners and buttons, but inspiring and exciting marketing solutions. Using our youth community to create a buzz and conversation about a brand, no two campaigns are the same!
Being the primary contact regarding anything financial for both TSR staff and external contacts I get to know everyone and build a great rapport with all - luckily I'm a people person ;p

Finding unique ways for our clients to interact with and engage our audience and identifying the best ways to reach out to them.
Search Marketing Manager
There aren't many sites like ours out there. We have so much information that is produced in-house and by our users. Making sure students and search engines can find all this great content provides a unique challenge from a search perspective.
Because I am involved in all the numbers it affords me the opportunity to get to know all of the different parts of the business and learn how they tick and hopefully give them a hand in achieving their financial goals.

Student Choice & HE Lead
I love helping universities and students to connect. More and more on Twitter I'm seeing prospective students reaching out to universities who respond and direct them to our individual university forums here on TSR . Those students can then meet and chat with their potential university peers and become part of a community that is already well established before starting university. It's an honour to be part of such an exciting journey. Of course there is the fun element too! On pancake day we popped down to the beach to flip pancakes in the air hoping that the seagulls would catch them - they did! We filmed it and shared it with the community as part of our pancake competition. At the moment I'm also collating member's favourite study songs to build a community revision playlist to help get them through their revision period.
Absorbing all the feedback we get from members, which we never seem to run out of. Not only the vociferous opinions we get on the forums, but all the little comments and jokes you see around the site, and the different ways that people use it. Sometimes a member will manage to do something entirely different with what we've built, and in their own way made it more interesting and versatile than anything in the original idea.

I came here along with the website I created - Get Revising. I've never regretted joining up with TSR for a moment. The guys at TSR Learning are great at encouraging me to dream up crazy new ideas and actually take me seriously. By the way, I still go weepy when we get nice messages on Twitter.
Education Sales Manager
The unique thing about working at TSR is that everyone is genuinely passionate about what they do. I have never worked with such a fun, creative, smart bunch of people before. We all really care about TSR and are continually seeking ways to improve the site and the experience of using it. We are able to reach students from all across the world to provide help and advice; we are unique in that respect and it is something we are very proud of.
As Office Manager my role involves ensuring everyone has everything they need to work at full capacity and efficiency in a clean and friendly environment. Part of my role is also to aid the management team in providing rewards and entertainments when people have surpassed expectations of brilliance.
Managing such a diverse collection of staff across Finance, Operations and TSR Learning requires a unique ability to flip from a financial conversation to a marketing discussion to an advertising optimisation plan very quickly. Such variety in my work ensures there is a new and exciting challenge every day and I am able to share experiences across the teams to everyone’s benefit.

"Hack day", this is when the technical team come up with an idea that the whole development team can work on together that will be beneficial to the members of thestudentroom.co.uk and build it in a day.
The whole job is unique: every day we're helping to build a resource that thousands of students rely on for support in all kinds of ways. Editorially, it means we can offer them the kind of help and advice that they might not be able to find elsewhere.
Data, I am a bit of a data and database junkie so when there is reporting to be done it usually falls on my plate. I have also been getting stuck into the search engines so big improvements coming soon.
Head of Operations
No two days are the same - you can go from working with the ad ops team on forecasting availability one day, to creating maths question tools with the TSR Learning team the next. I can find myself interacting with our moderator team to sort out any problems they 're having using TSR, to sitting in a meeting with several directors to chat about making TSR work better on mobile devices. You can never be sure what you might end up doing next!
Director of Optimisation
Leading conversion optimisation within TSR Learning and sharing my passion and experience with the wider group I would say is my most unique role within The Student Room. Its a science that really works and if delivered and understood correctly, pays dividends both for the user and the company. My relationship with third party consultants both in CRO and SEO is also pretty unique and something I really enjoy as their knowledge and shared learnings provide me with a wider and more detailed understanding of both fields. I am also in charge of music in the office - a high pressure and demanding role, fusing playlists of dub-step and grime with 70's disco and 60's popular culture with a bit of psychcobilly seamlessly *ahem*!

I think I sit nicely in the middle between our student community and our clients. To get the best results you have to find that middle ground, and to see the results when you’ve been working hard on a campaign is incredibly satisfying.
