We’re Hiring – Community Manager
We are looking for a Community Manager to join our fantastic team based in the heart of Brighton.
What you’ll do
Working within our Community Team, this role reports to the Head of Community and works within the Life Around Learning section of the TSR website. You’ll be responsible for developing and enhancing a positive culture within our dedicated team of volunteers, and will ensure that our users have access to the most helpful conversations, experts and advice.
You will be empowered to use your nuanced understanding of TSR community and the needs of young people, to manage and take responsbility for your own projects within the Life Around Learning section. Working with the Head of Community you will lead on strategy, and be responsible for the practical implementation of the overall vision. This role is about supporting our community of students to actively participate on TSR and get the most out of it in all aspects of their lives.
Key role responsibilities
• Growth in engagement – working with the Head of Community, and the wider marketing and development teams, take responsbility for improving the levels of engagement across our forums in line with our Community strategy
• Retention – ensure students continue returning to TSR to view, post, and engage more deeply with the site
• Volunteer management – effectively manage the team of Life Around Learning volunteers to grow student engagement in specific forums
• Supporting users – engage directly with users to make sure they get a great service from TSR when they are looking for support
• Site administration – assist in the the report and moderation queue, overseeing our warning system and managing member services
• Content – managing the creation of help content and advice based on discussions trending on TSR, either yourself or via the support team
• Knowledge – stay up-to-date with topics relevant to your area
• Analysis – understand and analyse user experience and forum performance reports, using these to drive strategic development
Specific to this role within the Life Around Learning section, additional responsibilties include:
• Project and campaign management – provide leadership and connect key parts of the business to produce campaigns and project outcomes that benefit young people and our clients
• Community stakeholder relationship development
• Welfare policy – manage the escalation of serious issues and uphold the safeguarding practices of our community
• Strategic development of volunteer team to ensure members of the community are supported, whilst achieving wider business goals
This will suit someone who is:
- Experienced in driving engagement of online forums, as well as marketing through social media channels
- Passionate about supporting young people throughout the challenges they face
- Confident and has proven experience of managing and motivating a young team by coaching and mentoring
- Able to enjoy new challenges, think creatively and be solution-focused
- A team player but is able to take responsbility to work on projects independently
- Self-motivated, goal orientated with has a high-tempo work ethic
- Socially confident with the ability to inspire the best in others
- Able to comprehend complex technical and statistical information
- A degree (or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential
