1. Influences on their top choice university included the feel of the campus, course entry requirements vs predicted grades and the teaching methodology.
2. Information around student finance is in high demand. The rise in cost of living is a worry and with that, quality of life, so support around money management from universities is valued.
3. Open days are really important in their decision making process. Virtual open days are useful and good to have the option of both virtual and on-campus due to travel costs, but still don't replace on-campus open days which enable them to get a feel for the environment.
4. Information for those who do not qualify as WP but will still be independently funding themselves is key - students need the universities to meaningfully reach out to them and help them access the support on offer.
5. Some of the main concerns about starting university were making new friends, mental health support and knowing what support the university offer and 'self-management' from living away from home for the first time.
