What's new...






App going from strength to strength

Following our soft launch, we are now seeing around 1,250 daily average users on the app

As we enter exam season we’ll be monitoring app engagement to see if the easy access of the app enhances the speed to which users come to site to discuss exams after they finish (last year peak was 45 mins post-exam).

We have adverts on-site promoting the app, signposting to the app is in our own email message footers and social media messaging is planned for the coming month.




Native advertising

We have been testing native advertising for sponsorship/takeovers on the site with the goal to improve the overall user experience and ad performance.

Native ads are less intrusive and do not disturb the user experience, they are also seen as more trustworthy. Native ads are also much easier to implement as they do not require creatives to populate traditional display ads, simply supply your logo, copy and we create the native ads.

We are still in the testing phase and have been testing different designs. We implemented native ads on our App and have seen that they perform much better, so we are excited to see what the results are after our testing phase.

Rebrand of The Uni Guide

Following the relaunch of The Student Room brand in January, we will be looking to bring The Uni Guide closer into our branded house over the summer.

Applying some of The Student Room brand guidelines over into The Uni Guide, will create a strong, coherent and recognisable brand identity for the site that helps to engage our audiences.
