We’re Hiring – Digital Marketing Officer
We are looking for a Digital Marketing Officer to join The Student Room Group.
Who are we?
The Student Room Group (TSR) is the largest, most useful and best-loved online student community there is. Millions of students turn to us first for advice, info and support on work, learning and life’s ups and downs. And that means we’re uniquely privileged to connect educators, employers and consumer brands to switched-on young people actively seeking out answers and meaningful connections.
As we grow and develop the business we’re looking to recruit a Digital Marketing officer who will play a pivotal role in driving student awareness and engagement with the brand through paid media campaigns.
What does the Digital Marketing Officer at TSR do?
You will play a core role within the Marketing and Engagement department, planning, developing and implementing aspects of TSR’s paid digital marketing strategy to reach more students, and influence stronger relationships with our audiences.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the delivery and evaluation of paid social, PPC and digital display and retargeting activity.
You’ll have a good understanding of developing copy and content for effective paid media ads, working closely with colleagues in the marketing and design teams to deliver high impact messaging and assets.
In this role you’ll plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests and optimise spend and performance based on the insights.
You will work closely with colleagues across project teams to deliver the new B2C vision and regularly report on impact against attraction targets, responding accordingly with an agile approach that is based around test and learn as we enter a new phase of development for TSR.
You’ll need an agile approach, using tools such as Google analytics and others, to seek performance improvements and will need to be hands-on to review and optimise campaigns, regularly evaluating and amending keywords and ad groups to optimise performance.
We’ll need you to deliver your digital campaigns on-time and within budget, whilst meeting agreed KPIs/targets. As part of this you’ll be expected to collate digital campaign data and regularly report on impact against these targets.
You’ll have an interest in emerging technologies and platforms and will provide the team with thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
This opportunity will suit someone who:
Has experience of working in a marketing environment; including executing high impact search campaign, digital content, CRM and conversion projects.
Is familiar with optimizing landing pages and user funnels, A/B and multivariate experiments, utilising website analytics tools and setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns.
Has experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
Has experience of using content as a marketing asset including creating, curating and distributing through paid channels.
Has experience of utilising social media channels for acquisition purposes.
Has the ability to robustly evaluate activities and projects, identify areas for improvement, and plan new approaches and tactics.
Has excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
Has a proactive ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to develop self and area of work.
Has a passion for supporting students and young people.
