Base: 829 responses (6th – 8th May 2023)

We asked prospective undergraduates how their parent(s)/carer(s) were supporting their university application and decision making. Some of the key insights from the data include:

  • More than three quarters of prospective undergraduate respondents felt their parent(s)/carer(s) would influence their university choice.
  • Parents also appear to have a role in rejecting universities; 41% said their parent(s)/carers had helped them narrow down their university choices and 31% said they had discouraged them from choosing certain universities.
  • Around one in five (21%) thought their parent(s)/carer(s) used printed prospectuses as an information source.

We’d love to work with you on carrying out bespoke and confidential research on parents to support your recruitment campaigns and parent perceptions of your institution. Get in touch with TSR Insight to discuss your research requirements.
